Veronica Mars
Veronica Mars
will not be returning to The CW for a fourth season, it has emerged.
Series creator Rob Thomas, in an email to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, said that the show "is officially dead."
Thomas added that he believed The CW's entertainment chief Dawn Ostroff - who is currently being deluged with Mars bars by fans hoping to pull off a Jericho-like revival of the show - "would have liked to have continued" with the show but that others at the network offered "too much resistance."
The news comes just over a month since the series was viewed as a likely pickup for the 2007-08 season in a revamped form that would have seen Veronica working as an FBI agent.

Read more...Joblo has confirmed that singer Mariah Carey will be making return to movies in the upcoming Adam Sandler comedy, entitled "You Don't Mess with Zohan." She will be playing herself.

In the film, Sandler plays a Mossad agent, who fakes his own death, so he can run off to American to become a hairdresser. Note: For anyone that doesn't know what "Mossad" is, it is Israel's intelligence agency, similar to the American CIA.

The site reports that Carey, as herself, will run afoul of Zohan's former nemesis, The Phantom, launching Zohan and pals back into action.

The usual Sandler collaborator Dennis Dugan (Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy) is set to direct the picture. More importantly, Sandler wrote the script for the movie with Judd Apatow, director of "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "Knocked Up" and Robert Smigel, the man with his hand up the rear end of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

Read more...According to DavisDVD, Genius Entertainment and The Weinstein Company will release Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof" segment of "Grindhouse" on September 18th. Apparently, Robert Rodriguez's "Planet Terror" will release separately at a yet unknown date.

During its theatrical run, "Grindhouse" went through many changes. First it was released as a double feature, and completely failed at the box office. Then the Weinsteins tried to release the film as two separate films, just like in Europe, and that failed as well.
