Peregrym, who played Candice Wilmer, the illusionist with the Cheshire cat smile on "Heroes," has sidelined Nikki --- Nikki Reed, that is -- and has been cast as the female lead on the CW's upcoming show "Reaper," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Reaper" is an hour-long supernatural-themed dramady about 21-year-old slacker Sam (Bret Harrison) who ends up becoming Satan's bounty hunter, charged with retrieving souls lost from Hell.

Peregrym replaces Reed as a coworker at Sam's dead end day job, and the object of his affection.

Kevin Smith ("Clerks," "Dogma"), who directed the pilot for "Reaper," describes the series as "less 'Brimstone' or 'Dead Like Me' (as some have suggested) and more 'Shaun of the Dead' than anything else."

Currently, "Reaper" is expected to air on the CW each Tuesday at 9 p.m. starting this fall.
